Masada: Live In Jerusalem, 1994 (1999)

L'ensemble di Masada non ha alcun bisogno di presentazioni. Lo storico quartetto di free jazz/klezmer ha già pubblicato 10 dischi, i quali compongono il primo libro “Masada” (il quale, come preannunciato, avrà seguito nella serie “Book of Angels”, progetto molto differente, come vedremo): nel 1999 decidono di pubblicare, questa volta sotto Tzadik, alcune strabilianti performance live registrate nei loro tour in giro per il mondo. E tale serie viene inaugurata da quella che viene considerata fra le loro migliori performance in assoluto, ossia l'approdo nella città di Gerusalemme, in Israele (paese d'origine della musica klezmer).
Questa formidabile serie verrà annoverata da critica e pubblico fra i capolavori live del free jazz.
